Most of us could use a nice place to relax and have fun with our loved ones after an exhausting day, but not many of us have the time to pack our bags and go on vacation whenever we need it. Luckily, there’s no need for that – you can bring the vacation to you with a couple of calming decorations, some comfortable furniture, and nature. So, if you would love to turn your garden into your own personal oasis, here’s how you can do that.
Mix fire and water
There aren’t many things more calming than the sound of water in motion. So, consider building a small waterfall or installing a nice fountain in your garden. Besides providing you with the relaxing sounds of nature, this kind of decoration will also give your eyes something to rest on. Moreover, think about building a fire pit in your yard – you and your children could tell stories around it, roast delicious marshmallows, and it’s also a nice element that could introduce some more natural lighting into your garden.
Make it private and comfy
It’s not an oasis if it’s not a bit more intimate and comfortable. So, build a pergola over your patio and cover it with flowering vines. For a more intimate feel, you could decorate the surrounding area with colourful flowers and hedges placed in a way that partially hides the patio from view. When it comes to comfort, make sure to use quality outdoor dining furniture with cushions, so you can focus on enjoying your meal and company instead of thinking about your uncomfortable chair or shaky table. In addition, include a swing or two near the dining area so you can keep an eye on your children while they play.
Think about your kids
If you have kids who love spending time with you outdoors, consider getting a nice all-weather woven rug. It would provide cushioning for your child, and it would make your patio seem homier. If your kids are a bit older, add some extra seating for them so they can keep you company and drink their juice while you drink coffee with your friends. In case you have a bigger yard, you could even build a playground that includes a sandbox, a hammock, a couple of swings and slides, and anything else that you know your kid would enjoy.
Build an outdoor kitchen
You can’t have an oasis without some delicious food. Therefore, if you love grilling at least twice a week during the warmer months, and if your budget allows it, consider building an outdoor kitchen. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy – a countertop, a sink, a small fridge, some storage, and a nice grill can be all you need to successfully entertain your guests and enhance the appearance of your garden.
Green it Up
There’s no such thing as peaceful oasis without gorgeous plants. Flowers can make any garden look like a paradise, so make sure to use them to their full potential – place pretty containers and flowers pots around your garden, and get some flowering, fragrant plants. In case you have limited space, you can simply create a stylish vertical garden.
Nowadays, you don’t have to go further than your own backyard to escape from all the daily worries. Introduce some relaxing elements, enhance the nature through flowers and plants, and make sure the furniture you use is of high quality so your personal paradise can be not just beautiful but also practical. After all that, the only thing left for you to do will be to lay back in your hot tub and enjoy your vacation at home.
